I spend 6 days in Leysin, Switzerland.
A little bit of geography...
Leysin is a municipality in the Swiss canton of Vaud, located in the district of Aigle.

A little bit of history...
During a while, tuberculosis patients from all over the world have been hosted in the sanatoriums in Leysin, in order to enjoy the favourable sunshine.
In 2006, Leysin celebrated the 50th anniversary of a successful reconversion as a tourist resort and became the host of many international schools.

Lovely Swiss dishes
Every day, we checked the weather on the ski station thanks to Leysin Webcam. The weather this week was not favourable to ski. Indeed, we had 2 wonderful sunny days with 5-7°C (so to hot for the snow -actually no snow lol-) and 2 days with a storm. We skied just one day but the weather on the ski slopes was terrible: blizzard, snow, wind, cloud. We were not able to see anything after 1 meter. The more we went down, the more the snow turned into rain and the ski slopes became damp and hardly practicable. In some places, we could even see the ground and the rock! I am a snowboarding beginner and I met the floor several times ;).

View from the slopes (as you can see the weather was not great)
We ate often outside. There are 2 restaurants which are incredible: La Fromagerie and La Calabre.
La Fromagerie is perfect if you want typical Swiss cheeses such as cheese fondue (delicious), portion raclette (really nice, with marinated onions), etc. It is also a museum: perfect for children.
La Calabre is a restaurant with marvelous pizza ! I tasted a pizza caloze and pasta with truffles. Both are WOW ! Desserts are also great : I tried the cheesecake and a cake with nutella.
